History

Akdeniz University Faculty of Agriculture was established on 30 March 1983. In 1988, the Department of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation started its activities with the appointment of Prof. Dr. Feridun Hakgören as the Head of the Department. The department continued its undergraduate education as Agricultural Structures and Irrigation Subprogramme in Agricultural Technologies Programme between 1999-2002 academic years and as Agricultural Structures and Irrigation Subprogramme in Agricultural Engineering Programme between 2003-2008 academic years. Today, it continues its undergraduate education as the Department of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation since 2009-2010 academic year.
